It does not have a circuit breaker. It uses a fuse to protect the circuit. Look for a blown fuse in the fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side.I believe the cigarette lighter circuit is protected with a glass barrel fuse not a circuit breaker. Check the fuse box for a blown fuse.
Circuit Condition Created by a "Blown" FuseA blown fuse creates an "open" circuit condition. It's the same as opening a switch [turning a switch to the off position].
Only if the fuse protects the circuit that the wipers are on. If replacing the fuse does not solve the problem, check the replacement fuse; if it has also blown then you have a short circuit on that circuit and need to consult an auto electrician
You can easily replace it but you need to know why it blew in the first place. All fuses are marked on the fuse box or in the drivers manual as to which circuit they protect. Determine which circuit that blown fuse protects and inspect that circuit for troubles.
A fuse must be replaced if blown, a circuit breaker can be reset.
A relay does not have a fuse. The circuit for the particular relay is fused. You can tell if the fuse is blown by testing it with an ohm meter.
I believe the question should be what is a BLOWN fuse and why should you never replace it with a penny? A blown fuse would be one that has been over stressed and has burnt out or blown out to protect the wiring or other part of the circuit. A penny would bypass the fuse which is the safety measure in the circuit. Bypassing a fuse could cause a fire or serious damage to the device.
After discovering the fuse had blown Jack replaced it and fixed the fault in the circuit.
Three ways a circuit can be made to be open are, blown fuse, open switch and open contact.
Check for blown fuse--same circuit
Usually there will be lights or equipment in the house that will not operate. If all of the branch circuit breakers or fuses have not tripped or blown the only conclusion left is that the main breaker or fuse has tripped or blown.
IS THE FUSE IN IT BLOWN? If not get a battery and a test light. You will probably have to cut the fuseable link out. touch one wire end to the battery and make a circuit with it, if the test light doesn't light up and the fuse isn't blown it is bad
