A dominate trait
It depends on the trait. A dominate trait is not always an advantage, and a recessive trait is not always at a disadvantage.
Alleles can either be recessive or dominant. Dominant alleles produce a dominant trait which is normally seen, whereas although the recessive allele is present, the recessive trait is not normally visible. However, in cases of codominance and complete dominance the dominant trait does not completely hide the recessive trait and it can show through.
A recessive trait is one that is not always seen. Recessive traits can be carried in a person's genes without appearing in that person.
i mean to say what is a recessive trait not what is recessive trait sorry
It depends which one is the dominant gene, and which is recessive. Dominant always over rules recessive. I probably spelled recessive wrong so yeah... :P

The trait that is hidden is recessive trait.
no not always they can transmit a dominate trait also

The recessive trait isn't present when the dominant form of the trait is there. Whenever a trait is dominant trait is present it ALWAYS takes over the recessive one. the law of Dominance
recessive
Only when both genes in the pair are homozygous recessive, the expression will be masked, otherwise, if only one gene of the allelic pair is recessive and the other one is dominant, the expression of dominant gene will be apparent.

No, a recessive trait will only show in the offspring if there is no dominant allele masking it. The trait that will always show in the offspring is the dominant allele, provided one parent was homozygous for it.
