According to the following site, the '09 TL comes in two "flavors" - a FWD 3.5L V6 making about 280 hp and a 300 hp 3.7L V6 with the long-awaited SH-AWD. This news supposedly comes as a lead from the 2009 dealer meeting. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/12/rumormill-2009-acrua-tl-to-come-in-2-flavors-gets-awd/ The latter version is NOT a Type-S, consistent with Acura's historical withholding of the sport-tuned versions until the following model year. Pricing is anyone's guess, although I'd bet on a base MSRP approaching $33-35k for the 3.5L and something just south of $40k for the AWD 3.7L. At this point, it's tough to tell what remains to be juiced out of the 3.7L to even warrant a Type-S, but let's just say I'm salivating over the prospect of a 330hp sport-tuned 6MT AWD TL in 2010. To see a decline in the impeccable interior fit-and-finish and materials quality from prior TL generations would be reprehensible, so until I see differently I'm pleased with status quo carrying forward into the '09. Unfortunately, if the spy photos from last summer are any indication, it appears that the "beak" infecting the new MDX, TSX, and RL will also be apparent on the '09 TL. All I can say is that if I'm driving the car, at least I won't have to look at it, and most other drivers will be seeing less of the beak than they will of the LED taillights also apparent in the spy shots.
