If it is an engineered set of electrical plans you need written permission from the engineer to change any materials on the specified plan.

If the plans are not engineered specific then you need to get authorisation from the customer to use different lighting fixtures.

No matter which way you go, the one thing that has to be adhered to is that the lighting fixtures must be CSA or UL approved devices. If the fixtures do not have these safety approvals you run the risk of the electrical project not getting an electrical approval for connection to an utility supply.

Remember there is a lot of Chinese counterfeit electrical equipment that is cheap to buy in the market place but it is not safe to use. Check with your insurance company on the subject if in doubt.

What is inspection drawing and production drawing?

An inspection drawing looks like/is a schematic, detailing the exact mechanical layout of a factory, building, etc ... A production drawing is an illustration of what the buliding would look like, if it had yet to be built/dressed. Think of a movie set. The production drawing would show you what the space would look like, complete with specific lighting and people included, to give a sense of scale.
