If you have no battery then you have no power.
Either your battery is dead or starter is shot.
The old starter might of blew your battery. I would either recheck the wires to the starter make sure I did it correctly and if you did I would buy a new battery. I JUST had the same thing happen. 79 bucks for a new battery just cause its "special" really sucks!
Battery or Starter motor.
if it slips, then it does not charge the battery, and you might not make it home if you are driving home at night with the headlights on.
I just had the very same thing happen to me yesterday. My truck had been making that noise for about 2 weeks and then yesterday I went to start my truck and it died on me. My husband put in a new battery and it started right back up! It's alive!! If it is not your battery then it could aslo be your starter, but have your battery checked first. I hope that this helped:)
I just had the same thing happen with my Nissan. Your car died because your battery is bad. The clicking sound is also because your battery is bad most likely. It could be your starter, but always start with the cheap and easy fixes before moving on. If it's not you battery it is either you starter or your ignition.
When my Celebrity's starter was going out (1987, 2.5L) this would happen to me. Dropped in a brand new starter and solenoid and never happened again. Likely a short inside the solenoid I suppose.
bad battery. bad ignition switch bad solenoid or the new starter is faulty, has been known to happen
I tried that and it is difficult to turn the key and bang the starter too. This shouldn't be. I don't know if the soleniod relay is inside or on the starter or firewall - but your banging either makes it connect or makes the starter brushes connect to the armature. Next time this happens and before banging on it - check the battery voltage supply to the starter and the battery supply to the solonid or starter relay post while your Buddy tries to crank it. It mostly Sound like it is a bad replacement starter. It happens sometimes.
I think it could be your starter. Generally when it's cold, the starter mechanism gets stuck. This can happen if the starter is especially 7 years old or more. Good luck!!
That can happen when there is a bad ground to one of the lights.
Battery is dead, because of a bad alternator.
