If the human population ceases to grow, then the Earth may become overpopulated.

Even though every person on Earth as of right now could fit in L.A. (if they stood shoulder-to-shoulder, and there was only people in L.A. - nothing else), people take up a lot of room with their houses, cars, buildings, parks, farms, etc.

As well, people use up a lot of resources, and will eventually run out.

Though, this would take a long time to happen.

What does an upside down population pyramid usually mean for a city?

An upside-down population pyramid usually indicates an aging population with more older adults than younger individuals. This can have implications for the city's workforce, healthcare system, and social services, as there may be fewer working-age individuals to support the aging population. It may also suggest declining birth rates and potential future population decline if not addressed.

The greatest reason for extinction is the loss of habitat. Human have to stop encroaching on wild-life living space. To do that our population growth has to stop. Would be nice if the present population would come way down.
