Generator will not run or miss very badly. Drain all the fuel out and drain the lines. Replace the fuel filter and fill it up with Diesel.
Diesel with water in it will blow the ends off the fuel injectors, which is why maintaining your water separator is so important.
Either condensation or someone put it there. Diesel can get into the coolant, but it won't happen the other way around.
Anything, including a person or a machine, that can turn a generator will cause the generator to make electricity. Most commonly generators are turned by water turbines, wind turbines, gasoline or petrol engines, diesel engines or steam engines.
Any generator, d.c. or a.c., is driven by a 'prime mover'. It's the prime move that uses fuel, not the generator! There are lots of different types of prime mover, including combustion engines (petrol, diesel), turbines (gas, water, air), etc.

A water turbine
No diesel is a petroleum byproduct and is not water. If there had been water in the diesel fuel, it may separate after a freeze and thaw.
Water is heavier than diesel fuel
Hydro- means water. A hydro-electric generator uses moving water from a river or dam to turn the generator and produce electricity.

You can't directly. But using a hydro generator, water pushes a generator, which generates electricity
For example, in a hydroelectric dam, water makes a turbine move; the turbine makes a generator move, the generator generates the electricity. For example, in a hydroelectric dam, water makes a turbine move; the turbine makes a generator move, the generator generates the electricity. For example, in a hydroelectric dam, water makes a turbine move; the turbine makes a generator move, the generator generates the electricity. For example, in a hydroelectric dam, water makes a turbine move; the turbine makes a generator move, the generator generates the electricity.
