Explain what happened in eastenders with the whole gay thing in the Masood family?

Syed Masood was set to marry his girlfriend Amira when he discovered that he was gay and had an on-off relationship with Christian. Being gay, however, is against Syed's religion and so he kept trying to walk away, telling himself that what he was doing was wrong. He couldn't hide his feelings from Christian though and kept going back. He believed that he loved Amira and was determined to go ahead with the wedding despite his love for Christian. On the day of the wedding, his mum Zainab found out about his affair with Christian but insisted that he still go ahead with the wedding as the revelations would be terrible for their family's reputation. He went ahead with the wedding but a few months later, he still couldn't hide his feelings for Christian, and his father found him sleeping with Christian. Discovering this, he confronted his son and they soon fought. Amira found out due to graffiti on the wall of her bedroom in their new flat and Syed couldn't deny what was going on any longer. She left the square pregnant with Syed's baby. As of date, Syed and Christian aren't together and Syed is seeking help to get rid of his "unnatural feelings" (June 2010)

What is Syed called in Spain?

"Syed" is a Muslim given name. It is derived from the Muslim title "Sayyid". In Spain the persons name would still be spelled and pronounced the same way. Another way to describe a given name is to call it a "Christian" name. Christian names are generally associated with specific Christian Saints. So St. James in English is San Diego in Spanish for example. Syed is a given name, but not a Christian name, so there is no equivalent in Spanish
