It's hard to determine, if you crack it on a pan without oil it will fry. If you heat it with the shell, the egg yolk and whites with become hot and will start cooking, but very slowly.

the most common answer is temperature. if the oil is not hot enough, it will be absorbed into the product. if oil is hot enough, it will very quickly give a crispy coating on the food. there are some foods that will actually add oil to the vat instead of taking away, such as bacon or sausage.
it depends on were you boil it.... if in frying pan you'll end up covered by boiling hot drops of oil because of some chemical reaction. if Boiled on a pot it boils normally ( i have done it but don't try the frying pan :)
They won't mix. You will get two separate layers of liquid.
Any cooking oil will catch fire if it gets hot enough and fumes are caught with a spark or flame.
Only if there is a source of ignition like a naked flame.
