Nothing would happen to the earth. It would simply mean that flying from London to New York would cost more due to a longer distance. Or that Great Britain may find herself rather too close to America for comfort, or even worse, crashing into France and wiping out the English Channel - thankfully not in my life time.
earthquakes happen when these sections of earths crust move
Yes, continents will continue to move in the future due to plate tectonics. The movement is very slow, with the continents drifting at a rate of a few centimeters per year. This movement is driven by the Earth's internal heat and the convection currents in the mantle.

They move because of the tectonic plates of the Earth.
When the tectonic plates move underneath the continents.
Plate tectonics are what each continent is on. They move and are continuing to move today. It has to do with the earth's shape because the plate tectonics move the continents around.
The continents move due to plate tectonics, which is the movement of the Earth's lithosphere plates on the asthenosphere beneath them. This movement is caused by convection currents in the mantle, leading to the drifting of continents over millions of years.
