It will go all cold and die
A chick needs to be fully feathered before the heat source is taken away.
A chick needs to be fully feathered before the heat source is taken away.
Maybe, but I doubt it because the chick would have to form, and grow, so I'm guessing that if it did hatch, there would be something wring with it because you'de have to turn up the heat.
blanket and heat lamp (I recommend a blanket)
heat
If you have other chicks they wil all bunch together if they are cold. If they are just right they all sould be happy and walking around. You sould have them in a box with a heat lamp over them. If they are to hot they will stay out of tha heat lamps way.
I am assuming you mean 40F (cold). To survive this kind of temperature the chick would need to be about two months old and fully feathered. It would need good shelter from the wind and rain and would do better if it had other chicks to huddle with to maintain collective heat.
what happen to the heat energy as a substance solidifies
A baby chick should only be left in an inbactor 12 hrs after hatching and then taken and put under a red heat lamp until they are stronger
What might happen to water quality during a heat wave
