Yes, you could have one bird although birds always feel better in a pair. If you decide to get one bird you have to know that you are the birds friend and he she needs your company . So you will have to spend lots of time with your bird to make it happy . But if you notice the bird plugging it's feathers or sitting on one perch all day that means the bird is lonely - that happened to my bird(even though I spend most of my day with him ) so I had to get another bird. I started with one now I have four!!!
