I'M NOT A MECHANIC , but I was looking at the engine wiring schematic and noticed that there is an electrical connection from the crank position sensor to the ignition control module (ICM) and also an electrical connection from the ICM to your ignition coil and electrical connections from the ICM to your powertrain control module. My Haynes repair manual states " it is a delecate and relatively expensive electronic component" - check to see if there is positive battery voltage to terminal # 8 with the key in the on/run position, but engine not started, using a volt ohm meter. It is mounted between your radiator support frame and your battery.
The computer only resets when the battery is removed. The alternator just charges the battery, so if the battery is left connected when the alternator is replaced, the computer should not reset.
Most likely the problem is your alternator....the battery light actually does not monitor battery condition, only the charging system. I'd check the voltage regulator and the fuses first. The fuses are the cheapest fix and the voltage regulator will run about 25% less than an alternator.
The belt turning the alternator which is recharging the battery.
Some new alternators will not charge unless the battery has a full charge already.
did you check the alternator??
Inside the alternator
Your battery could need replaced, your alternator or starter could be going bad. It is best to have a mechanic look at it if this bothers you or it continues.
Voltage regulator or loose wire.
Check the battery cables or starter.
Your battery is not charging due to a problem with the battery cables or a bad alternator.
Alternator is not charging. Have it tested and/or replaced.
Either check your alternator or your battery life and replace as see fit.
