This is a common trigger point area. When the SCM's (sternocleidomastoid) muscles are extremely tight, this point under your ear will tighten up and form a lump. The muscle goes from the tip of the clavicle to the mastoid process under your ears. I use Merry Hempsters heat rub on the lumps and the muscles. This is common in people who sit and/or stand with their head stuck out (chicken neck) like me. I try to concentrate on standing with the top of my breastbone pointing straight to the sky. No slouching!
