Discribe the war of Iraq
Iraq is masculine in French, so it would be "l'Irak" as opposed to "l'Irakie" if it were feminine.
Mitt Romney had nothing to do with US War in Iraq. He was not a federal politician at the time the Iraq War was declared nor did he have any federal involvement when President Obama withdrew the troops from Iraq. Furthermore, he was opposed to "ending the conflict prematurely" when he was asked about during the 2008 primaries.
The United States had previously supplied Iraq with supplies during the Iran-Iraq War, including missiles, tanks, airplanes, etc. These supplies were put to use again in the Persian Gulf War of 1990-1991, but the United States was opposed to Iraq in that war and did not supply Iraq additionally for its invasion of Kuwait.
A long-term war would be costly in men and materiel, would de-stabilize the region and probably be opposed by the American people .
Most American politicians before 1900 were very expansionist and aggresive. From what I have read of history, the Founding Fathers probably would have supported the war in Iraq only if the United States was actually going to annex it or obtain serious and de facto control over the oil.
A preventative war is a war that is declared with the goal of preventing a much larger war outbreak in the near future. An example would be the Iraq War (if we assume that Iraq did have Weapons of Mass Destruction). Under the concept of preventative war, the Invasion of Iraq would have the goal of preventing a chemical or nuclear war started by Iraq in the near future.
The president always opposed the war in Iraq when he was a senator, and he campaigned for president promising to remove the remaining combat troops from Iraq. He has kept his promise in that regard.
