Many things would be unlawful. One example is getting your fingernails ripped off for stealing money. Another example would be the government preventing you from pracicing any religion. Many things are unlawful under the U.S. Constitution.
It doesn't.
Because most people understand that the rights under the US Constitution existed under article 6, and the 14th amendment was not necessary; it was only passed so that it would be unlawful to question "The validity of the public debt of the United States ... shall not be questioned" (quoting the 14th amendment, in part).

That they would become a state under the US constitution in the United States of America
No, a state constitution cannot override the United States Constitution. For example, if a certain state decided that they would outlaw guns completely, the federal courts would overrule that based on the second and fourteenth amendments to the US Constitution.
southern states would not agree to a constitution that banned slavery
Excellent question. A good place to start would be www.montpelier.org and www.constitutioncenter.org.
me
Trick question. That depends on the state statute and whether it is repugnant to the US Constitution or federal law in an area where the federal government asserts supremacy. If the statute falls under the penumbra of states' rights, then the statute is controlling and the US Supreme Court will (should) uphold it. If the statute is unconstitutional under the US Constitution and involves a part of the Constitution incorporated (applied) to the states, then the US Supreme Court decision is controlling. If the statute would be unconstitutional under the US Constitution, but involves a part of the constitution not incorporated to the states (for example, the Seventh Amendment), the Supreme Court will decide whether to apply the Constitution, which would then be binding on all states, or whether to allow the state statute to stand, in which case the state statute would be controlling.
'Prohibition' by an Amendment to the US Constitution, made it unlawful to make, sell, or purchase any alcoholic spirits or beverages like whisky, wine, and beer.
(in the US) It is highly likely that such a building would be unlawful to rent or occupy under existing fire safety and health department codes.
