A faulty crank sensor can do that.
Check the fuses.
Perhaps water pump is leaking?
Like most cars with no "spark" it can be caused by faulty/old cables. Replacing them would be a quick and cheap solution if in fact they are the cause.
On a 1994 Buick LaSabre why does the engine continue to rev up while driving even when the brake is applied ? or when driving why doesn't the engine return to idle when the brake is applied? I would check for a vacuum leak
It could be the spark plug wires that's what was wrong with mine.

check the entire electrical system. Coil packs (i had one go bad on mine), the plate they mount to, spark plugs, plug wires, alternator, ground straps, everything.
fluid leak, empty fluid, bad master cylinder. nothing else.
