the ignition control module is getting hot and shutting down take it off and have it tested at any auto parts store its free to test

The first thing I would do is replace the fuel filter and make sure the fuel pump is actually running when it dies. The pump may be overheating and shutting down. A clogged fuel filter will cause this.
