check coolant level may be low or thermostat may be faulty
The most common problem causing a 2000 Blazer to stay on heat is a problem with the blend door. Check the blend door and its control circuit to fix the problem.
A bad engine temp sensor can do that.
Check the 96 Blazer for any vacuum leaks in the system. A vacuum leak can cause the air flow to only come out of the heat vent.

A blown fuse is the most common cause for the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer sheet and air conditioning not working. The fuse box can be found in the engine compartment.
If the dash lights go on and off and the heat won't turn off and electrical noise is coming from the heater, there could be a short in the wiring on a 1998 Blazer. This is also possible if the ground wire for these items is not longer attached.
Only if it is allowing Fluid to escape. Does the radiator and heater core have enough fluid to circulate. If not you will not have heat.
Blower motor resistor may need replacing
