yes, if the Cadillac converter is not working properly it can cause you to loose power and may in the future cause you to loose your engine.
The most common reason for a engine to miss and lose power is a lack of fuel. A dirty fuel filter can cause an intermittent fuel supply to the engine.
Yes, cause a reduction of power to the engine. It will result in a power-train malfunction error
No power steering fluid, broken pump, or broken lines.
If the sound occurs only when turning, (left or right) the most likely cause is a loose power steering belt. First check to see if the belt is tensioned correctly, or in need of replacement.
The power steering and the power brakes share the same pump. The pump belt may be loose, the system may be low on fluid in which case you have a leak somewhere or the pump may be faulty.
blown head gasket,it causes the coolant and gas get mixed in cylinder, that cause the white smokeyou also loose compression which in return you loose power
A loose battery terminal will cause intermittent power supply, high resistance and heating. A high resistance will cause a voltage drop, as more current is drawn from it.

The rattle may be caused by either a bad bearing in one of the pump wheels, (ie water pump, power steering, etc.) or the belt tensioner has seized. My tracker's tensioner had seized up, and while it didn't rattle on acceleration or deceleration, it would rattle when the engine was started on a cold day, due to the belt being lose. It wasn't a squeal either, but it sounded like someone was shaking a pop can full of marbles. Living in northern Ontario Canada, we have some cold days, and it would rattle quite loudly. Other than that i really have no other ideas. Hope this helps! Good luck!
