What would cause a Jeep Cherokee to click at a high rate when not running?

Sounds like the fuel pump. Maybe you have some wires crossed.

Many newer model vehicles have fans that keep running. I would bet yours is supposed to run for a minute or two to assist in cooling.

Start by checking the sump plug bolt located under your jeep at the lowest point of the engine it may be loose.

it is either the erg valve or the timing is off.
