Could be that the ground cable needs to be a larger gauge. The present ground cable may be too small causing too much resistance resulting it to heat up. Be sure all the ground connections (battery to engine block, engine block to chassis, chassis to body) are clean and tight.
First check the truck for coolant leaks, make sure the coolant level is o.k. If it is there could be a blockage in the radiator or hoses if you have no idea what you are doing take it to an automotive repair facility an overheat could cause severe engine damage
low oil low radiatio flued or the thermistat
No, but I'll tell you how to do it... Put the two batteries in the truck. Call them "1" and "2." Hook the positive cable from the truck to the positive of battery 1, the negative cable from the truck to the negative of battery 2, and the series-wiring cable (it's about a foot long, and it's got a battery clamp at both ends) between the negative on battery 1 and the positive on battery 2.
most definetly can casue overheating and probaly cook the belt too
It could happen for a number of reasons - which of those reasons fits your case is impossible to tell without doing a proper diagnosis of the cooling system.
It will overheat at idle.It will overheat at idle.
Kickdown cable needs adjusting.
Ground? Any good bare metal point on engine or frame
To fix the clutch cable on a 1986 Mazda Truck, start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for safety. Locate the clutch cable under the dashboard and at the transmission, then remove the retaining clips or bolts securing it in place. Replace the old cable with a new one by threading it through the same path and securing it at both ends. Finally, adjust the cable tension as needed and reconnect the battery.
you may have a bad thermostat, replace and see.
To change the speedometer cable on a 1990 Toyota truck, disconnect the cable, feeding it through the grommet, then disconnect it from the transmission. The process can then be reversed with the new cable.
