What would cause a Peugeot 205 to smoke?

I hope someone will review and improve this answer but one obvious thing that comes to mind. perhaps its burning oil? have you dropped it recently and accidentally filled it too much? try dropping a little oil out then see if it still smokes.

depends on the colour if it has a blueish tinge then its oil then your piston rings are At Fault if its white then its water that could be your head gasket or your sealing o rings at the bottom of your cylinders ether way if your machanary minded get somebody who knows his job Also depends on where the smoke is coming from, most likely the exhaust i suppose, but if its from the engine bay, it could simply be oil dripping onto the mainfold
