A leaking fuel rail is the normal cause.
i had the same problem with my 02 intrepid it was the idler pulley to the ac belt $19 to fix it.
you have to find where the leak is first.
Could be a bad head gasket. You would get engine oil leaking into the cylinder heads and that would show as smoke out the tail pipe.
