I am willing to bet tour car is a shoc if so check your rotory button and distributer cap and change if discoulerd they should still look shinny gold where the dis. is located right under the hood loors or shoulder pads I call them that is were the water is leaking from you might want to chek that gasket or silcone around that seal that's what I did and I also had tochange my spk plug wires JAC

Pardon? You soak your car? Well first you should check for cracks and breakage in the intake all the way to the filter, then check the distributor ( I assume it has one ) a small crack will make it hard to start when wet.
