The light should be on before starting, and for 3 seconds after starting, as a bulb check.
Ignition is required for an engine to work. Failure of ignition would prevent the engine working.
Yes, sometimes a faulty ignition switch can cause the engine to not fire. Also, a bad spark park can the engine to not fire.
can a chevy truck with a 350 engine with a tbi cause detonation and pre- ignition?
pre-ignition or inaccuratley, Dieselling. it is , of course a hazard, and could cause a backfire, or even an engine explosion.
A bad ignition coil will cause your engine not to have any spark. Without any spark the engine cannot start or run.
, Pre-ignition (sometimes called knocking or pinking) is when the fuel is ignited before the desired point in the cycle of the engine. That is not just before tdc on the cycle, because alost every engine begins ignition momentarily before tdc, and as the engine speeds up - even further before. In essence pre-ignition is an undesired ignition of fuel vapours which has the effect of slowing down the piston as it rises towards top dead centre. Because it ignites before the proper time, it can damage the piston surface, cause wear in the bearings/gudgeon pin/little end, big end bearings or cause extra wear on the piston skirt or cylinder bore. The other place pre-ignition can cause damage is on the valve seats/valve head. Either way the engine has problems. It could be an advance issue (mechanical - distributor or electronic sensor - most modern engines have a pre-ignition sensor), bad fuel blend (too high octane), it could be as a result of a carbon build up in the head/valve area (which can cause a hot spot - a source of ignition for the incoming fuel) If it's a modern car - get the pinking sensor checking at your local garage, if its an old car with a mechanical distributor - check the timing.
Driving through flood water would cause the ignition to fail and stall the engine.
A bad ignition switch, on your 1995, Mercury Voyager, will cause the vehicle not to start. In most cases a bad ignition will cause the engine not to turn over.
Yes, a bad coil will prevent the ignition from firing and the engine will not start.
The ignition module will send a signal when the key is turned. If the module is no good the signal is not sent to the other ignition parts, thus not allowing the car to start
I THINK U NEED TO REPLACE THE STARTER
An engine computer does not cause a misfire but merely reports it. The misfire is probably caused by the ignition coil or plug wires
