got the same exact problem.
why would a speedometer stop working on a Mazda
A blown fuse can cause your fuel gauge and speedometer to stop working. Replace the fuse. The fuse can be found in the fuse box. The location of the fuse will be listed on the inside cover of the fuse box.
A speedometer will stop working if the gauge has failed, the wiring is loose, or the sending unit has become defective. Each component must be tested to determine the cause.
=A Gage is gun a 12 gage=
The gauge has failed.
I don't think its the sender in the tank, or the speedo sensor, it's gotta be somthing in the gauge cluster... maybe they share the same fuse...check a manual for the circuit dave
you need to change the speedometer cause if your odometer is counting then speedometer should be working too. make sure your speed gear its working its in the side of the transmission The odometer and speedometer read off of the same signal. If one works, the signal is ok and the other gauge is bad.
You may have a blown fuse.
The speedometer and gas gauge going out tat the same time indicate an electrical problem. The instrument cluster may have to be removed and the circuit board checked for loose connections or cold solder joints.
The problem would be that the car is messed up
The gauge is part of the instument cluster ( the part with the speedometer ).The gauge is part of the instument cluster ( the part with the speedometer ).
Probably a fuse. They are all linked together.
