What would cause the headlights to flash on and off while the car is shut off and parked?
It is possible that the headlights are activated by the alarm. If that is not the case, if it has auto turn on headlights the module can be going bad. Other than that I don't know.
You cannot actually turn off the lights while the car is driving or in any gear but park. If you would want to turn the lights off while you are parked for some reason, put the car in park, turn off the car completely, pull the emergency brake up, then restart the car. This overrides the headlights and they will stay off while the car is running-however, as soon as you release the emergency brake…
If the driver had hit a pedestrian or a car that was sitting, waiting for a stoplight, who would be at fault? The driver is responsible for whatever he hits. While the parked car will get a parking ticket, that is not a "moving violation", and cannot be considered the cause of a collision. Drivers are responsible for avoiding ALL obstacles, even illegally parked cars.
Generally one of two things will cause headlights to dim; a power drain somewhere else (A/C compressor clutch, etc.) or a bad electrical connection. If the dash lights dim at the same time, it's most likely an electrical draw or short circuit. Don't automatically dismiss the A/C clutch because the A/C isn't on; some vehicles also run the A/C in defrost mode to dry the air.
While working for a RV dealer, I came across a similar problem where the clearance lights would flash with the directionals. Turned out to be a shorted filaments in one of the rear dual filament bulbs. If you hit a car parked illegally across from your driveway while backing out are you responsible for repairing the car that is parked illegally?
What would cause your car to make squeaking sound when you turn the wheel while parked or in very low speeds?
Your 96 dodge caravan had to be jumped off because the headlights were left on now your hazard lights flash if your headlights are not turned on What could be causing the problem?
you most likely have aparasitic drain which is causing your battery to discharge, depending on what is causing the problem, was anything added recently say a new radio spliced into another wire. take a look at any visible wires that are not sealed properly, or your battery needs a good cleaning with baking soda that could cause a drain on the batt which would need to be removed as the acid from the battery could…
What would cause your headlights to flicker and voltmeter to drop while driving sometimes but not always?
Be certain you have fully depressed the brake pedal with your foot. If this is so, maybe the switch controlling this is defective. If you are parked on an incline without the parking brake set, this will also happen. Placing the transmission in Park is not always sufficient - one also needs to set the handbrake in case the transmission fails while parked.
