What would cause your shower to not get as hot as it used to and not stay as hot when other bathroom and kitchen faucets are fine?

The only thing that could cause this is outside air has leaked into the house and is cooling off the pipes.
If the water heater is producing the temp that is set on the thermostat, then it will come out the same temp everywhere, unless you just think the faucets are getting hotter.
If your water heater is electric, the elements could be getting bad or dirty from hard water,which will cause inefficient heating.
But besides this,only cold air could cause the pipes to cool.

Try removing and cleaning out the aerator on the sink faucet, and the shower head. (Word to the wise: if you take them apart, write down the order. It can be tricky trying to figure it out, afterwards). By just removing them, you should get hot water, thereby verifying that these are the cause of the problem. If you don't want to clean them, you can always replace them. Water saving aerators are available for faucets. Water saving shower heads are also available. Some shower heads even have on and off switches, for additional water savings. How I learned, the hard way: My situation was, hot water from kitchen & bathroom sink faucets, and even from the tub faucet, but not from the shower head. So, I removed the shower head and soaked overnight in CLR.* Cautionary note: Probably would have been OK to soak overnight in vinegar, or for a few hours in CLR. But overnight was too long in CLR. It must have dissolved more than just the calcium deposits. Now the shower head has much thicker and much more water consuming streams. (Previously it had a very stingy water conserving spray).

your vent on your shower or kitchen (if you have one) is not working and either the air from the water in the shower drain is carried down stream till it T's off to your kitchen sink then the air follows to your kitchen sink drain line backwards and to your kitchen sink trap and then bubbles through your trap because your water in your kitchen trap can not drain but the air has enough pressure to go through it OR your water from your shower is flowing past your kitchen drain T and making a siphon which causes air to go through your kitchen trap and makes the gurgling sound one way to fix the problem is to add a Vent line on your kitchen drain and your shower drain with in 42" on 1 1/2 or 60" on 2" on your trap arm if you want to follow the UPC code. Note to above Respondent: That little dot next to the question mark is a "period". Try throwing one in once in a while.

It is always a good idea to use some X-14 (a mildew remover) every coupke of weeks when you start to see mildew. It is cause by lack of air flow in your bathroom, or a leak from upstairs. Is there is an upstairs bathroom? If so you might have a small leak somewhere in the supply or drain lines in the upstairs bathroom. If not a leak then possibly condensation is forming on a shower or tub above this bathroom.

This can be fixed by turning off the major water supply valve and then opening all of the faucets in the home for about 5 minutes. Shut all of the faucets off, then turn the water supply back on.
