New Brunswick has little say in confederation but they would have no say at all if they had not joined or if they left.
It would take a lot of money
Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec didn't actually need Confederation, because they were already doing pretty well. It was Ontario that needed Confederation because they would get money from Nova Scotia and the railway would be built which helped them(Dubious)
nothing
Albert James Smith was against the Confederation because he feared that the taxpayers of prosperous Brunswick (his home State) would be saddled with a major part of the debts and the cost of developing the Province of Canada. He also feared that in the new Confederation Brunswick would lose control over its own destiny. After the Confederation became fact, he reconciled himself with the idea and became the Minister of Fisheries in the Confederation government six years after its establishment.
