According to Fox News and their computer simulated models, if the star were to explode and become a black hole, it would eat all the children on Earth. Also, our economy would fall over on itself twice as hard as our atmosphere would slowly melt away due to the gravitational pull of the black hole.

But real scientists agree that, nothing threatening would happen aside from the potential of gamma radiation. There would be alot to learn from it's destruction.

If a star fell into a black hole, as well as if any other matter fell into the black hole, it would be utterly destroyed. The matter would stay in the black hole, increasing its mass.

It was the name of the collar of the cat in the movie Men in Black. because it was named after a very famous hunter and i think it is a very fascinating story.

What is the cultural significance of Orion's Belt?

Orion's belt is one of the more well known star formations. Culturally, it was a major element of the first Men in Black film - although it turned out that the star formation was being confused with a cat's collar. The formation was also mentioned in the original Star Trek series; in the City on the Edge of Forever, Kirk tells Edith Keeler (played by Joan Collins) that in "a hundred years or so" a famous novelist would come from a star just to left of Orion's belt. In the 1990s there was hypothesis that the star's making up Orion's belt were "perfectly" aligned with the positions of the three Giza pyramids. The hypothesis has been rebutted by several astronomers and Egyptologists.
