They would get a prize and a recommendation for the first person to do it.
It will "merge" not collide with the Milky Way Galaxy in about 4 billion years times.
It will collide with the Andromeda Galaxy in a few billion years.
Four billion years from now, our galaxy, the Milky Way, will collide with our large spiraled neighbor, Andromeda.
In space and time anything is possible. Within our lifetime, then it will not happen, however in about 2.5 billion years the Andromeda Galaxy will collide with our galaxy, the Milky Way.
Andromeda Conquest happened in 1982.
Most likely nothing. The chances of a star passing close enough to disrupt our solar system even as a result of the galactic collision are extremely small
Difficult to know for certain. However, it seems likely that the Milky Way galaxy will collide with the Andromeda Galaxy in about 3.4 billion years or so. The supermassive black holes that are believed to be in the centers of many galaxies (including the Milky Way) will probably merge, and most of the stars of the combined galaxy will eventually settle into position in the new galaxy. But some stars will likely be flung out into interstellar space.
