If an ABS sensor is bad, it will illuminate the ABS light on the dash display. It could also disable the ABS system, which in turn means you have no ABS braking function and the vehicle would stop like a vehicle w/o ABS, the wheels could lock up during hard braking. Some sensors are part of the hub assembly/wheel bearing unit and others are bolted in to the hub. While others are also located on the axle or pumpkin depending on application.
