Probably the planets would stop going around the sun and start going around the earth and if the earths gravity was that strong there wouldn't be life because we would all die from the gravitational pressure.
The Earth and sun both orbit their common center of mass. That's the point where the
pivot would have to be in order to balance them, if the Earth and sun were on opposite
ends of a see-saw.
Right now, since the sun is so much more massive than Earth is, their common center
of mass is actually inside the sun. But both bodies are orbiting that point. As the Earth
became more massive compared to the sun, and even exceeded it, their common center
of mass would slide towards the Earth, just as you change the position of the pivot
when the weights of the people on the see-saw change. But wherever the common
center of mass goes, that's the point that the Earth and sun would both continue to orbit.
Note: Same exact discussion goes for the Earth and Moon.
The earth would be pulled into the sun and burn.
If we could travel to Jupiter what problems would we have
Then the force between them would be greater than it is.

The earth's water would evaporate.
if it was twice as massive, earth probably have burned, noone would be here, and surviving would be a 1 out of 100,000
In that case, the Moon would move in a straight line instead of moving around the Earth; it would quickly get away.
The same thing that happens every night when the sun disappears...nothing! Gravity on Earth is not dependent on the Sun. But life on Earth is, gravity would be the least of Earth's problems if the Sun dissapeared
People will learn to adapt to the gravity creating a race of stronger human beings.
we can fly
The earth's water would evaporate.
we would die
if it was twice as massive, earth probably have burned, noone would be here, and surviving would be a 1 out of 100,000
All living things would die
The moon would spiral inward towards the Earth.
Then everything in space would fall for the ground due to the massive gravitational force that it is emitting.
There is no reason why it should. But if it did, there would soon be no life left on Earth.
No raining? I don't know.
If the spherical Earth as we know it suddenly became flat, it would stop rotating, and the Sun and cosmic radiation would eventually destroy it.
well thats easy, it would fly away from the sun in a straight line.
Fish would die. There are species of fish that live off the algae.
