Well, for starters, the dead vegetation would be broken down by microbes into smaller particles which would float to the surface of the pond. This would allow all of the vegetarian organisms to rise near the surface for easy feeding, because all of the plant matter would be concentrated in one place. This would also benefit the carnivorous organisms who could eat the herbivorous organisms that flock to the surface. Unfortunately, this could be deadly for any man or woman who sets foot in the pond, as the carnivorous animals would become agitated by the the swimmers/waders and likely attack and devour them. This is why many people dump toxic chemicals in lakes - it is a safe way to kill everything in the pond, including the fish, so that when the plants die, people will not be eaten alive by them.
If the water dried up, ther is a high possibility of dying of thirst.

Take your dog to the vet, but wait about maybe an hour, if he or she throws up during that hour, take your dog to the vet.
