If species disappeared from an ecosystem the balance in the ecosystem will be altered.
It depends on the size of the disappearing sphere. If a small sphere disappeared then air from adjoining space would move in and balance would soon be be restored. However, if a large sphere disappeared then the adjustment could involve extreme turbulence.

If plants disappeared from earth, all life on earth depending on photosynthesis would disappear.
This cannot possibly happen, so asking what would happen if it did happen is an exercise in stupidity.
If that happened, we would all die. However, that essentially can't happen. In order to actually get rid of water, you'd have to shoot it into space. Boiling it just adds it to the atmosphere as water vapor, and it eventually precipitates back out as rain.
