Nothing there would just be more food for the other sharks.
It is people like the previous poster that are responsible for most of the environmental degradation of the world (no offense, but you should research topics before you post). the elimination of any species (or mass extinction) has profound effects on the environment in which they are local (their 'niche', although that term has a completely different definition depending on which branch of the bio-sciences you are from). Mass extinction is always a problem, but most devastatingly (in the interests of mankind) when it is a predator that has gone extinct from an environment. To eiliminate the tiger shark would have several effects, but I will only deliminate one as an example of how absolutely tragic this would be:
Whatever the tiger shark's prey species are would overpopulate to the point of problematic levels. for instance, if the prey species is herring, which i belive it is not, actually, there would be more herring in the ocean than anyone would know what to do with. This bloom in the herring population would cause all sorts of problems, such as food shortages for species of simmilar diet, and the spread of disease thoughout the herring species (due to a lack of immunity and the proximity of all of the fish). also, it would eventually cause the mass extinction of the herring, as they would eventually starve themselves to death.
To claim that the other sharks would benefit is abosultely a noxious answer. If all of the sharks ate the same things and profited in the same manner as tiger sharks, then there would be nothing else but tiger sharks. the fact of the matter persists that the tiger sharks evolved to be the way that they are because of the traits that make them good at something (for hypothetical purposes, it is much more complicated than this: they are absolutely magnificant herring eaters) most likely, the mass extinction of other prey species when the herring over populate would cause the mass extinction of other shark species as well, although adaptation is somehting that the sharks have always been good at, for eons. The mass extinction of other shark species would cause....which would cause.....which would cause.....
Mass extinction is always tragic...always. And not just for the animal kingdom. even the most conservative people who care the least for the animal kingdom and the inticacies of the environment iun which we live would suffer from the extinction of a single species on this planet. Take a bat. icky, nasty repulsive little creatures to most. get rid of them and watch a huge spike in mosquito populations. which means a huge spike in malaria, west nile, etc. It would be the same with our hypothetical herring. Who knows what diseases would love to grow in herring, and who knows how long it would take for them to be communicable to humans. Furthermore, i like cod. alot. and i would like to keep eating cod. lots of people like tuna. A change in the niche the tiger shark fills would most likely cause an exponetial shift in the industry and the eating of fish. Putting hundreds of thousands of people out of work, and completely destroying once facet of the global economy.
Back off the animals, all of you. you have no idea what you are messing with. And to those of you who do, you aren't messing with them, are you?
The species that they eat would grow in population
tigers and leopards eat orangutans
If the number of tigers increases then the food chain would be effected. Their prey (like birds, deers and other animals) would decrease and cause other food chains to be effected. Some people live in forests which may have tigers, the increase would cause more deaths in these communities.
Well... i can say there would be no tigers the world would not change it would stay the exact same and so would we!
Sumatran Tigers are high in the food chain. Only a couple things that would be considered predators - man would be the most likely, but there has been cases where elephants and rhinos have killed Tigers, when the Tiger has made an attempt to kill a young.
if tigers were exticnt preys would take over the world
What would happen to the creatures in the food chain if there were fewer penguins in Antarctica
and what would happen?
there wouldn't be anymore Siberian tigers
The rest of the food chain would collapse and there would be lots of deaths from starvation.
Somewhere, the chain shall be halted.(related to that disease).
We All Die
you would die
