It depends on how much you put in. If only a few drops, there will be little effect.
Check the oil level and top off with motor oil if needed.
If you used transmission fluid in an oil change, this would be very bad for the engine. Tranny fluid does not have the same protective properties that is required of motor oil and you risk engine seizure.
If you used transmission fluid in an oil change do not drive it until the fluid has been flushed from the oil system with lots of fresh oil
I would assume you will be buying a new transmission, only transmission fluid goes in the transmission.
There is no such thing as "transmission oil" there is only transmission fluid, but but over filling the reservoir could cause serious damage to your transmission..
hehehe... "dipstick"... teehee
Not work.Without fluid the transmission cannot operate, cannot lubricate, cannot pump, cannot work.Do not attempt to drive vehicle if there is no fluid or severe to catastrophic damage will occur to internal parts.
the speedometer wont work and quite likely the automatic transmission fluid or oil (manual trans) would leak out and the transmission would be ruined.
The output shaft seal has failed and transmission fluid is leaking by, and that would explain the transmission fluid appearing there.
If you mean "engine oil" then I would think that a seal has failed between the transmission unit and the "engine" Other than that maybe someone put or topped up the transmission fluid in the wrong location. Change of oil is required any way
Check transmission fluid level Perhaps change transmission fluid and filter
Have transmission fluid and filter changed. Checked Transmission mounts
The transmission fluid capacity for your truck, automatic transmission would be 3 quarts.
You can locate the transmission fluid leak on your 2001 Chevy Metro by looking at the transmission fluid on the ground. Look above the transmission fluid stain and you should be able to see the source of the leak.
what type automatic transmission fluid for Allison at 545 ? I would suggest using Allison Transynd, "synthetic fluid" allisontech
