A chloroplast in a plant won't be affected very much. As long as the plant has enough water in order to preform photosynthsis the sun would greatly help the plant. As long as the plant has the ability to live in Desert (ex: good roots, big vacuoles, ect.) it should be fine. I hope this helps. I got the information out of my biology textbook.
