Because they live in marshes so much, there fur color will eventually turn dark turquoise. They will dominate all wetlands and will start reproducing like reptiles. But of course they won't stop there, they will start dominating forests, then move to deserts. There will be many different species of nutria, and soon, they will become fearless and dominate cities too. Also, they will grow bigger and more human like and will mate with some humans and create a whole new species. There is evidence on this.
