Mechanically, the food is mixed in the stomach by peristalsis and chemically, food is mixed with enzymes and strong digestive solutions to help break the food down. So, without the stomach, neither could work, therefore digestion couldn't be completed so in the end you'll die, unless there is a machine that could take over your stomach but I'm not quite sure they have that equipment yet...

hope i helped :)

What digestion is occurring in the stomach?

The stomach has a very acidic environment. This favors the breakdown of proteins. An enzyme (i.e. a biological catalyst) called trypsin is active at acidic conditions (gastric juice) and is responsible for the break down of proteins in the stomach.

What type of Mechanical digestion takes place in your mouth stomach and small intestines I?

Chemical and mechanical ingestion take place in the mouth. Chemical and mechanical digestion also take place in the stomach. Chemical digestion takes place in the small intestine.Ingestion, digestion then absorption. In the mouth, both chemical digestion and mechanical digestion happen. The mechanical part is your teeth crushing the food into smaller pieces. The chemical part is when the salivary glands give off a special fluid that contains enzymes. When food enters the stomach, an enzyme is released that helps to digest food chemicaly. The muscles in the stomach also digest food mechanicly. Lastly, the small intestine completes the chemical and mechanical digestion of food. The small intestine takes out all the useful matirial and sends it to the cells as tiny molecules that the cells use in cellular resparation.Baisicly, they all use chemical and mechanical digestion.

Where does mechanical digestion happen?

Mechanical digestion starts when food is chewed physically by the teeth (grinding and tearing the food), and the remaining steps of digestion continue from then on.

2 types of digestion are?

Mechanical Digestion (ex. chewing your food) and Chemical Digestion (ex. your spit breaking down the food). Those examples happen in the mouth, but both types happen elsewhere in the body, too.

Compare mechanical and chemical digestion?

actually the mechanical digestion takes place first in our body that is the whole process of digestion we normally study. where the whole process is of getting things like glucose, minerals, proteins etc.. but the chemical digestion takes place at the cellular level means in the cells that is the break down of glucose in getting energy to work or metabolism of the cells
