What would happen if curium was gone from the earth?

This will be an event without any significance.

Do mountains keep the earth stable from shakes for example during earthquakes?

No ,mountains do not keep earth from shaking ,greatest earthquakes happen around the mountains like in Himalayas also mountains are created by the movement of the tectonic plates which create earthquakes.Just because the mountains are themselves stabilized by isostacy does not mean that the mountains stabilize the earth or the crust by isostacy. Prof David A Young. No self respecting geologists would claim that mountains keep earth from shaking.

What would happen without the coriolis effect?

Without the Coriolis effect, air would simply flow from low pressure areas to high pressure areas. The Coriolis effect causes deflection in the global wind patterns.

Without convection currents what would happen?

THE WORLD WOULD END. that is all. well not really. THISis what would happen if it were to BLOW UP and the convection currents had died. Really, the water would disappear, we wouldn't have volcanoes or earthquakes, there would be NO LIFE AT ALL WHATSOEVER, there would be NO WIND, and we'd all be dead. sadly.

Disadvantages of terrace farming?

It conserves the soil as it slows rapid surface run-off which would erode the soil as it wipes off the top layer depositing it further down the hill. It creates flat areas on each of the terraces (steps) which is useful when harvesting and using machinery. Lower terraces aren't eroded by rapid surface run-off, and the highest terraces still get water.. Before, this water would of ran straight downhill.

Would the world be different without mountains?

Mountains are caused by the movement of techtonic plates (which are colliding and rubbing all the time). When two bodies of land collide or earth is pushed up, mountains are formed. The world without mountains would have different environments, as many organisms use mountains as their habitat. Without mountains though, the world would survive, just without the species that rely on mountains as their habitat.

Why are terraces cut in mountain regions?

Terraces permit farming in areas that would otherwise be too steep to farm.

If there was no geographic features what would happen?

Geographic features can be described as mountains, rivers, lakes, trenches, etc. Without these there would be alterations in temperature, as well as the rotation of the Earth. Ethnic groups at war would not have mountains to form boundaries and there would be no water on Earth. There would only be snow in the far north and far south and the equator would be scorching hot.
