2003 ford expodition steering wheel is hard to turn.
The steering gear has failed.
It would have to be completely seized and have yanked the steering wheel all the way to that side. Otherwise no.
I'm not sure but try this, turn the key with one hand (gently) while with the other hand try (hard) to turn the steering wheel one way then the other.
If its front wheel drive possibly an axle.
If you're sure that it is the right key then, the next thing to check would be: is the steering wheel lock bound up? Turn the steering wheel hard first one way then the other while attempting to turn the key. If that doesn't free it, then you might have a park/neutral safety that won't disengage.
The power steering fluid is thicker when cold therefore it is harder to turn the wheel.
your wheels are more than likely turned hard in one diretion turn your steering wheel hard in the diretion of the wheels and turn key
A steering wheel may be hard to turn because the power steering fluid might be low. It also could be that there is problem with the power steering pump.
Sometimes if stering wheel is in a turned position it can interfere- try yanking the wheel a little one way or the other while gently trying to turn key If the key won't turn it's either the steering wheel lock mechanism or a faulty keyswitch. If it's the steering wheel lock, try moving the wheel as you try to turn the key. broken switch or try turning the steering wheel hard left and right while trying the ignition..it may be jammed
If its a front wheel drive car , you automatically push the accelerator but not to hard and turn into it not with it. A 4 wheel drive car you turn into it and press the accelerator and finally rear wheel drive you let go of the accelerator and turn into it
would the tierod cause the wheel to turn out
