Type your answer here... John Deere 2040 firing order is 123. There are not that many choices for a 3 cylinder engine
in back of ignition
i just done it on a x300r which might be the same.lift the hood up look inside the body where the ignition is.you will see a black connector with maybe 5 wires or so.unplug this and then squeeze inwards the 2 holding clips either side of the ignition with 2 screwdrivers or similar as there is not enough room for both fingers.the ignition barrel will push up and out of the dash. all done !

If you are sitting on the tractor seat (hood up and side panels removed) the time delay module is on the lefthand side (starter side) of your JD 425. The original module is square and the new one is round.
It could be many things. The most likely cause is a little metal encased module on the right engine shroud. It's called the Ignitor. It will probably run you $60 to $75 from John Deere.
The time delay module in this particular model can only be bypassed by an authorised dealer for safety reasons. The part exists to prevent electrocution, so it is prudent to adhere to safety regulations.
1,2,4,3, is the firing order on the 1010 JD. #1 is the plug closest to the front of the tractor.
