My 97 was doing this and I replaced the Idle Air Control Valve and presto! all is well, sometimes you can remove this and give it a good cleaning but if it was like mine it literally fell apart when I took it out of the throttle body. It is located on the back side of the throttle body so be patient!!
It will fit in any 2500 or 3500 Ram. If it is a different version of the Cummins it will take a lot of modifications to make it work.
Check to make sure the intake heater is working.
You need a programmer to change the software in the engine computer.
buy a chip or programmer. straight pipe your exhaust.
You need to buy the special wrench for it or make one of your own.

It'll fit but it might not be big enough, measure and see, and make sure it has the same number of cores.

the v8 uses a 46re the v10 and diesel use a 47re
its impossible i have found out. mainly because dodge diesel's have been terrible for the last, i don't know... 35 years or so. GET A DURAMAX. Its all about Chevy baby.

That would be a pain But if you really want to: Find a 5.9 Cummins school bus and get your trans there, make sure to get engine computer, trans computer, wiring harness etc. Good Luck
