What would make a 92 jimmy backfire through the carb?
Too much fuel pressure. that typically happens when needle valve (carb pressure control) is blown off the seat.
Chevy 350 performance cam etc have tried to get the timing right but even after rechecking the chain all you get is a backfire through the carb help tried both normal and 180 out?
What causes a 1984 Chevy Jimmy S15 to backfire and then run well for a few minutes then idle and backfire more even though the timing has been adjusted?
If it's blowing black smoke and backfiring, then I would guess that it's dumping fuel into the engine (carb or injected? stuck float/choke or fuel injector problem). Bad throttle position sensor could cause it. Plug wires installed incorrectly. Check the distributor cap for cracks and any other damage.
What would make your 95 Camaro backfire through the carb when trying to start it and will not stay running or idling?
first you dont have a carb... did it start after you did anything to the motor (plug wires) you might have them crossed look online at shbox.com (best camaro info site ever) for the proper order if it just started outa the blue its prob the opti(pancake distributor on the front of the engine) or maybe a burnt intake valve
Why does your car stall after starting up Also why would the car backfire after accelerating in park?
I don't think they had carburetors on the 89's. They were throttle body fuel injection. As far as the backfire and loss of power, check the firing order (in case it got messed up), check the distributor cap and rotor for moisture and carbon arc. Check the spark plugs and spark plug wires for damage.
If it backfires after you shut it off then it is probably running too rich. Any unburned gas the that is exhausted out and into the muffler will explode with a backfire. With a 1990 model you won't have the anti-backfire solenoid on the bottom of the carb like the newer ones have. If it backfires while it is running it might be out of time. Check the keyway between the crank and flywheel to…
I am having the same problem and found that there was a leak in my exaust system. I fixed it and it stopped the backfire. I also heard if you seafoam the gas that it could help. The air idle screw on your carb acts like it does nothing but if you adjust that it can also help reduce the bacfire but not stop it.
My baja warrior had a gumed up carb after sitting a while .I cleaned carb but now it will only run with the choke almost fully closed. Any ideas would be helpful.?
That is caused by too much gas getting into the engine after the key is turned off. If the mower is new enough to have a anti-backfire solenoid on the bottom of the carb then it must not be working. If it is an older mower and doesn't have one then the carb needs adjusting to back off the amount of gas.
I would remove the egr mounted below the carb and clean with carb cleaner or brake clean and reinstall. There is a metal pintal inside that should move freely use a screw driver and see that it moves easily. If cleaning and no change replace it.If the collector for the exhaust which is connected to the exhaust manifold is clogged or ur cat convertor are old u could be loading up the carb and therefore causing the…
