I had this problem before, you need to be a little more specific on the question to get a precise answer. my 87 was in a crash and somewhere between that and repair it lost the ambient temp censor. It could be the same problem you are having. There is a total of 7 censors for the auto climate control system, most of them are really annoying to get to... trust me. If in fact it is the ambient censor your best bet would be to find one in a junk yard, otherwise it would cost a ton of money to get things done by the Nissan dealership. GL

if your heat isn't on. its because when you rev up the engine the belt driven fan pushes cooler air over the engine. so the cooler air gets pushed into your system.
