if you had it put in call them to tow it back and fix it , if you want to fix it check your linkage first ,then your vacuum lines if there good it may not have connected together inside at the splines take it back off and try again good luck
I'm stumped. Can you help answer this question? This a normal sound for the Sebring, I've had two and they both make that sound when shifting form park to drive. No tranny problems.
If there is a loud noise when shifting from park into drive, it may be a transmission problem. One should shift slowly, as the transmission could disengage itself.
what do you mean? can you be more specific? Is it only when you have it in drive or also in reverse, Low gear and so forth? If it's only in drive could be that you have a transmission issue.. Probably water in your tranny from your radiator tranny cooling tank being bad...
The tranny slipping
It's a 4 speed front wheel drive transmission with electronic sensors for shifting.
my drive and 3rd not working what is causing this promblem is their a a promblem with the transmission
Check the linkage. If it's good your getting due for some tranny work.
An automatic transmission needs no manual shifting - a continuously variable transmission needs no manual shifting. Based on those parameters I believe that you are okay.
If it vibrates briefly only while shifting, it's probably the transmission slipping. If all other gears are shifting ok, you're about to loose the transmission.
Are you sure it is the transmission that is clunking? It could be the u-joints on the drive shaft that are making the noise. When the u-joints on the drive shaft are bad, there is an audble clunk when you accelerate and when slowing down (basically the same motions you go through when shifting gears).
it will affect (weaken) your transmission if you have an automatic tranny! but a manual tranny can handle it!
change your tranny pan trans filter its easy just ake sure totorc your bolts could be drive line or rear end too
