Worse case would be a blown head gasket. Running hot could cause this too. Best case is a bad radiator cap.

The firing order on the Chevy camaro is 18436572 -- 1,3,5,7 being on the left (driver side) front to back and the 2,4,6,8, being right side -- front to back !
Being that those 2 cars were identical, it stands to reason they'd had a similar top speed.
