Do you keep attempting to start it...? My 1999 k2500 with 454 motor was doing this randomly...sometimes when it was hot sometimes when it was cold sometimes not for days...I was told everything including it was a worn key or a bad ignition or fuses etc...I finally think it was the starter landing on a flat spot and the continual attempts to start it finally got it past the flat spot to engage...I replaced the starter and it has not done it all for 2 weeks and counting so far...i think that was the fix...good luck
Adding to that:
If it turns but doesn't start, then starts 10-15 mins later, it's flooded. Fuel needs to be vaporized for it to combust. If it's in liquid form, you'll smell the fuel while it's cranking, but it won't start. It starts 10-15 minutes later because gasoline has a high evaporation content, so by that time, it's no longer flooded.
I used to have the same issue with the 350 in my camaro. It turned out to be a faulty injector on the throttle body. It was pouring fuel instead of spraying it.
my suburban wont start

what is the problem if a Chevy diesil engine start and run 30 minuits died and start right up again
a lot of factors to consider... will the engine rotate at all?
Depends on the engine but severe engine damage will start to occur almost immediately. It will run a few minutes until it starts to overheat then the engine will seize. It will not take long to destroy the engine.
There could be numerous reasons why a Suburban is making engine noise at start up. It could be anything from a blown gasket to a spark plug. A mechanic will be able to find out the cause of the noise.
One common problems is a plugged catalytic converter, if the engine starts fine and then starts to stall or feel like it does not have any power after running for a while it could be the catalytic converter.. the engine starts loosing power because the exhaust has nowhere to go (the catalytic converter is partially or totally plugged) Compression starts to go down causing the engine to stall or die. If you leave the car alone for a while the pressure in the engine goes out slowly thru the catalytic converter leaving the car ready to start again for a few minutes but it will shut down again.
Time when trying to start the car engine trns butwill not start turn key off then onagain it starts right up
fuel pump
it will start and then proceed to self destruct within a few minutes. the entire engine is sure to be trashed...
Starts within 5-10 minutes, maximum effect is reached around 40 minutes.
A 2002 Suburban that turns over but will not start is not getting fuel to the injectors, the ignition system is defective, or the spark plugs are worn out. Performing a full tune-up of the engine will solve most of these issues.
